Location:
Bylot
Island, Nunavut, Canada
This image shows results of the collapse of an oversteepened margin of Aktineq Glacier. Note the freshly exposed recumbent folds and evidence of thrusting, as well as the concentration of debris near the glacier's base. The glacier is flowing from right to left (southwestward). The height of vertical face is around 40 to 60 meters. This photograph was taken from an altitude of approximately 100 meters above the ground surface.
