Surface drainage and contact zone between two valley glaciers
Location:
Bylot
Island, Nunavut, Canada
Contact zone runs diagonally from lower left to upper right. Debris of a medial moraine is sporadically distributed along the zone of contact. Note the shear fractures in the ice of the contact zone. They are presumably a result of the glacier on the right moving at a faster rate than the glacier on the left. Exact location is unknown, but thought to be within glacier C93. For a wider angle view of the area, see image 0033.
