Glacial lake with suspended glacial “rock flour”

Location: Bylot Island, Nunavut, Canada
Glacial lake with suspended glacial "rock flour"

Glacial lake with suspended glacial "rock flour," dammed by an outwash/alluvial fan from glaciers at head of the valley on the right side of the image. This is the same lake as in image 0135, and the outwash delta shown in that image is on the left. This view is from about 500 m altitude, looking northeastward toward the Byam Martin Mountains. Aktineq Glacier (B17) is on the extreme left. Note that this picture was taken 13-15 years before the one shown in image 0135.
